Love to look at a golf course, at all hours of the day and from almost every vantage point in your home? This incredible property in The Cliffs at Walnut Cove outside of Asheville, North Carolina, could offer exactly the lifestyle you’re looking for.

The home, which has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, is on the market for just under $13 million.

The Asheville Citizen-Times, part of the USA Today Network, wrote this on the property:

This home overlooking the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, claiming “the largest single pane windows in North America” and a 1,500-bottle wine cellar.

Built in 2018, the home contains 9,810 square feet and is currently listed just below $13 million. It would also break county records if sold at its current listing price. Between its three floors, it contains seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a three-car garage.

The property is 10 minutes from the airport and “offers an abundance of guest rooms, sitting areas, and multi-use spaces, idyllic for a mountain retreat in a luxury gated community,” according to the listing.

With a traditional down payment, you’d pay $2.2 million and would have a 30-year mortgage of about $75,429 a month, according to Rocket Mortgage.

As for the course, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a par-71 design by Jack Nicklaus, who built the course in 2005.

It’s sometimes the case that landowners with large swaths of greenspace will carve a golf hole or two into their acreage, giving them the means to keep their skills sharp.

But what happens when an owner recruits a bona fide golf architect to produce something magical on their property?

That’s the case with an incredible property currently on the market just outside Calgary, one with a 9-hole executive course designed by Gary Browning.

The home, which went on the market on August 1, offers some pretty phenomenal amenities:

This 19.18-acre parcel features a 12,000 + square foot home, a private, world-class 9-hole par-3 golf course, a clubhouse capable of handling large gatherings, as well as equipment maintenance and storage structures. The landscape is a seamless combination of natural forest, the golf course, numerous water features as well as professionally fabricated and maintained gardens. The home was designed and crafted with a brilliant combination of wood and stone that work flawlessly in sync with the grandeur of the structure and its surroundings. Entertaining here is a dream come true, whether for business or pleasure. The chef’s kitchen is front and center on the main floor, with soaring ceilings, plenty of natural light, a butler’s pantry, dining space for 20+ seats, a cozy fireplace, commercial refrigeration and numerous access points to the west exposed patio.

The lower walkout level has a games room, a second kitchen, 5 bedrooms, a Maplewood wine cellar, a wood-burning fireplace with a gas log lighter, and a commercial-style bathroom that can handle the largest of guest lists. The upper-level conference/sitting room is the perfect place to host your business meetings. Additional interior features include a total of 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 3 laundry rooms and plenty of sitting and office areas. Cold beer can be poured on tap from the main floor, the lower level, and of course from the Clubhouse.

The golf course was designed by Gary Browning, a golf course Architect with a reputation for delivering high-quality golf course consultation, design and construction services. This may be Alberta’s finest 9-hole par-3 golf course. The Clubhouse structure is 1700 square feet on the main level. Commercial kitchen and bar equipment has been installed and gatherings here are typically catered by a local, prestigious, fine dining establishment. The lower level of the clubhouse is currently used for storage related to the operation of the clubhouse and golf course.

The property sits in an ideal location, just 30 minutes from Calgary’s downtown area, but about an hour from Banff and a number of ski resorts.

The asking price is $13,950,000 Canadian, or about $10.4M in U.S. dollars.

A custom-built Delaware County home with more than 12,000 square feet, a private golf course and a party barn from the 1830s has been listed for nearly $8 million.

The home, in the private River Rock Farms development, was designed and built by Paul Craver Housewright from 2012 to 2014.

“This is one of the finest homes in central Ohio,” said Amy Conley, the Cutler Real Estate agent listing the property for $7.9 million. “There’s so much attention to detail, it’s just a beautiful home.”

Details include black walnut floors; custom molding throughout the home; 10- or 12-foot ceilings on all levels; an elevator; four indoor and one outdoor fireplace; a wood-paneled study modeled after Augusta National Golf Club; and geothermal heating.

“The attention to detail throughout the house is amazing,” Conley said. “Even the storage rooms on the third floor have black walnut floors.”

The home includes six bedrooms and seven-and-a-half baths over three floors. A fourth floor can be found in the fully-finished lower level featuring a large bar area, exercise room, billiards room, massage room, family room and home theater.

Outdoors, visitors will find an infinity pool and private putting greens and a tee box.

Next to the home stands a rebuilt barn from the 1830s, that originally sat at the intersection of Olentangy River and Home roads in southern Delaware County. Barn enthusiast Dan Troth dismantled the barn when it was threatened with destruction to make way for the Trails End subdivision.

Troth rebuilt the 2,184-square-foot barn next to the River Rock home, where it can display 10 cars. The barn sits on top of a full lower level with a vehicle ramp.

In addition to the barn and golf course, the property’s 9-acre manicured grounds include a pond, irrigation system and walls of mature trees.

Sick of fighting for a tee time? This $26.2M Vermont estate has its own private 9-hole golf course https://golfweek.usatoday.com/gallery/vermont-real-estate-9-hole-golf-course-26-million/ Wed, 12 Jul 2023 20:00:52 +0000 https://golfweek.usatoday.com/?post_type=fishburn_gallery&p=778376342

A pristine lakefront property that houses a stone mansion and a 9-hole golf course is on the market in Vermont and could prove to bring in one of the biggest residential real estate windfalls in the state’s history.

The property known as Grosse Point sits in the town of Ferrisburgh, about 25 miles south of the state’s biggest city of Burlington.

Here’s the property description via the listing on Zillow:

“Grosse Point” in the Lake Champlain Valley is one of the most private and impressive lakefront estates in New England. From its elevated perch on the point, the grand 10,000 square-foot historic stone residence with 345+/- acres of fields and woods overlooks more than 30 miles of Lake Champlain both to the north and south. The estate includes five guesthouses, a 9-hole golf course, a variety of usable barns, and farm manager’s house plus 1.5 miles of lake frontage with three large docks. The majority of the property is covered by a Nature Conservancy Conservation easement. Grosse Point, offered for only the second time in over 100 years, and with its provenance, is clearly one of the most extraordinary estates ever offered in northern New England.

According to a piece in the Wall Street Journal, the sprawling property was the summer home of Cynthia Hoehl and her husband Robert, who was a co-founder of software company IDX Systems Corp.

The entire estate sits on more than 400 acres, and the property tax bill is estimated at around a half-million dollars per year.

Justin Thomas sells Florida home for $3.1 million, more than doubling his money on the property https://golfweek.usatoday.com/gallery/justin-thomas-sells-house-jupiter-florida/ Wed, 12 Jul 2023 17:50:54 +0000 https://golfweek.usatoday.com/?post_type=fishburn_gallery&p=778348138

He didn’t get the price he was asking for, but former World No. 1 Justin Thomas sold his South Florida home that sits down the street from buddy Rickie Fowler.

The two-time major champion, who recently upgraded to an estate in Tequesta, listed his home in Jupiter for $3.65 million, more than twice what he bought it for in 2016.

The home was purchased last week for $3.1 million.

Thomas, 29, paid $1.48 million for the home at 5745 Pennock Point Road in Jupiter, according to Palm Beach County property records. Built in 2008, it has four bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths. He purchased the home as he was establishing himself as one of the PGA Tour’s young, rising stars. Thomas won five Tour events during the 2016-17 season, including his first major, the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.

The home is 7,983 square feet, 5,445 under air, and the estimated taxes are $21,757 a month. It has no direct access to the Loxahatchee River.

The house is on the same street as one owned by Fowler, one of Thomas’ closest friends, and in the same area is dozens of professional golfers from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf League.

Justin Thomas’ house was built in 2008

Thomas purchased a newly-built home on the Loxahatchee River in October for $13.45 million. It has 7,600 square feet with 100 feet fronting the Loxahatchee River. Thomas’ purchase came after he won the PGA Championship at Southern Hills, defeating Will Zalatoris in a playoff.

A 15-time winner on the PGA Tour, Thomas is currently is No. 20 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

When you’re going to play golf in Hollywood, the stars are going to come out, right?

The 2023 U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club sort of fits that bill. It’s not quite in Hollywood this year — it’s in Beverly Hills if we’re being exact. And while we might see celebs in the gallery this week, there are some homes around the course that belong to some very famous names.

U.S. Open Leaderboard: Live leaderboard, Schedule, Tee times

And by homes, I mean MANSIONS. We’ve already detailed one of them, which we’ll include below, but here’s a guide to some of those palatial homes you might see all week:
