For a northern school, indoor facilities make all the difference when winter weather prevents student-athletes from getting in game-improvement work outside. Michigan State’s indoor golf facility, a 15,000-square-foot building completed in March 2016, affords Spartan golfers those foul-weather practice opportunities.
The Lasch Family Golf Center includes a 5,000-square-foot indoor practice area; student-athlete lounge with multiple couches, high-top tables and televisions; men’s and women’s locker rooms; coaches’ offices; video room; weight room; and a kitchen area featuring nutrition/hydration stations.
Outside the Lasch Family Golf Center is the recently updated 20,000-square-foot Fox Family Putting Green. In addition to that, a 22-acre outdoor short-game facility is under construction and expected to be complete in the late summer or early fall of 2021.
